Open Question: How do I know if someone have experience in boxing?

In my college boxing class, theres about 30 people. There's this one guy who is the smallest of all. He's about 5'6 and probably 145 lbs or bit less. During warm up, stretching, and drill, he's freakishly flexible, he's almost always first in sprinting or running, do a work out without dropping a sweat, never seems to be tired, or anything. The professor never have to correct him for anything thing that I know of so far. Also he hit the bag incredible hard for his size and can even move while throwing punches or after. He hit almost as hard as some of the biggest guys in the class. But I don't understand something, he have a very odd stance. He's a bit more squared and hold the same hand as lead foot in front of his face as a shield withe other one stay by side of his head. He also stay on ball of feet when moving around. The professor never corrected this for some reason. His arms is like a toothpick but his legs are freakishly huge and muscular. Is this normal for boxer?
