Say a small woman fights a man and kicks him in the testicles. Can this actually render them helpless or is that just in the movies?

If you seen USMC hand to hand combat manuals before WW2,you will see steps on how to perform specific extremely practical Savate kicks such as the Coup de Pied Bas.But if you seen more recent USMC combat systems suchs as LINE and MCMAP,you will not see any savate kicks at all!Alot of the savate kicks in older USMC manuals were very practical and have been proven to work in warfare close quarters situations! So why don’t more modern USMC systems like MCMAP incorporate savate kicks like the older combat systems did?

If you think I’m Making BS up,read this.

As stated,Do or Die was accepted as a training guide by the U.S.M.C. when it was published in 1937 and indeed the Manual teaches basic Savate kicks.
@Joe-Its a myth that Savate’s kicks are all fancy.Thats only tournament, the most basic of Savate’s kicks such as the Chasse Bas are anything but fancy and pretty much just straight to the point and crude.

Its only in tournaments where they frequently use fancy looking high quicks much for the same reason Karate and other Traditional Martial Arts practice fancy high kicks in Katas and Ligh Contact Tournaments.

I just looked back at Bruce Tegnar’s Book Savate and saw this on the page about Knife Defense.

This line got my attention:

“NOTE:It is imperative that when you are being attacked with a knife, under no condition should you attempt to grab, block,or parry the knife with your hands and armes.Remember,a person who carries a knife is generally experienced in using it and will be able to cause you serious injury if your hands are within his range.”- Bruce Tegnar,Savate:French Foot Fighting 2nd Edition P.122

What do you think?I did research on the web,and apprently every website on Self Defense and Knife fighting as well as other books I read on the topic such as Don Pentecosts’s “Put ‘Em Down, Take ‘Em Out!: Knife Fighting Techniques From Folsom Prison” agree with Tegnar’s advice that grappling should be avoided and only used as last result against opponents armed with a knife unless you’re extremely well-experienced in H2H.

Would you say Bruce Tegnar’s statement is correct?

I understand its a style from the Northern Shaolin school, but I honestly cannot find any information on it, and its not made up because Sammo Hung said he taught it to Louis Fan for the movie “Ip Man” and that its based off of ancient Chinese boxing forms. Is there another name for it or other variations to it, or is there any links to schools or articles about it? If anyone can find anything that would be great, thanks.

I mean this guy can be ANYONE in a standing up fight and by anyone I mean anyone!

UFC wake up!

Im interested in his philosophy and way of thinking.
